As the second edition of "Constructions: Buildings in Arizona by Alfred Newman Beadle" is finalized for the press, plans have been set for release of this tremendous resource. The book will be available, along with the film, "beadlearchitecture" and an opportunity to meet Al's beloved wife Nancy Beadle, as we mark the 10th anniversary this year of the passing of this famed icon.

WHY: to announce the availability of a book that illustrates the indelible mark of this Regional Master Architect on Arizona’s landscape

Modernist architect Al Beadle (1927 – 1998), who created a new vocabulary for building on challenging sites in the harsh, arid landscape of the majestic Sonoran Desert, left a 40-year legacy in the Valley. Much of his built environment is undocumented and few resources referencing his work are available.
Originally published in 1993 in a very small edition, Constructions: Buildings in Arizona by Alfred Newman Beadle is a long out-of-print book still in demand, no doubt because awareness of the importance of his work in the history of modern building has spread from the narrower professional community to the wider public and is still growing.
